When I first started using this razor, I was getting frustrated. Bad razor burn no matter what I tried.I didn't give up though and now I'm getting great shaves. Here are my tips for those who are getting razor burn:1. Wash your face with soap and hot water.2. Rub some pre-shave oil into your stubble. I really like the oil from Pacific Shaving but there are many options. I bet you could use coconut oil if you were on a budget. Really dig in and massage the oil into the skin!!!3. Apply the shaving cream/gel/soap. Just like with the oil, really mash it into your stubble.4. Here's the tricky part. Many advise going against the grain. Shave like you always have. Up, down, sideways. But here's the big tip - use a very light touch! Shaving with a razor blade is much sharper than your 3-5 blade Gillette cartridge.5. Take your time and take it easy. Make it a ritual.6. Shave every day! Getting through heavy stubble is what ends up requiring more passes or more force. This is a huge contributor to razor burn.7. This might be superstitious but I swear it makes a difference. Soak the razor head in some rubbing alcohol when you are done shaving before putting it away. Kills the germs and likely prolongs the life of the razor blade.Overall, the Edwin Jagger razor is well constructed, looks great and feels great in your hand. A++
