I've actually purchased this item (in silver) 3 times, over the course of 3 different apartments. I've never had issues with any spontaneous breakages or other issues, although I generally do not fill the shelves much more than pictured above (I've probably put at most 4 full bottles of shampoo, of the size pictured, on a shelf with no issues). A couple notes from my experiences:- *The finishes are nice and appear stable.* They aren't super fancy, but the quality of the poles seems consistent and the baskets themselves haven't had any defects, as far as I've seen.- *The rack doesn't move well between locations.* The first time I purchased, I moved apartments shortly after and tried to readjust the top pole for a difference of about 2 inches (between the two apartments). The rack was noticeably unstable after the move, but that may also have been due to banging around during the move itself.- *The item needs to be assembled very carefully.* Having assembled this item 3 times, I've learned some things about what works and doesn't. First off, it's consistently taken me under 30m to assemble, whether careful or not. The first and last times I've assembled it, I've carefully read the instructions, consistently measuring against the wall and readjusting as assembling so that the shelves don't tilt up, down, left, or right. It's not very difficult to get this correct, but it definitely needs attention (I could absolutely see the shelves wearing down/breaking if attached in a tilted state and used that way). The second time, I thought I knew what I was doing, and ended up with tilted, slightly unstable shelves which were hard to fix because of wearing down from over-tightening. Regarding that: the screws start pressing into the inner pole really quickly when screwing in, and actually only need to go into their holes about halfway. This drove me a bit crazy (I like things flush, and I was tempted to just push them all the way through), but I definitely felt the shelves felt safer when not overly tightened. If you overtighten a screw and then take it out after, the pole instead is clearly compressed/damaged.All-in-all, I found this to be a surprisingly reliable and nice-looking item for a noticeably lower price than others. The product itself is fine...meets the description. The only problem is is that I ordered it at the end of December and received (installed and have been using) it. Now, a month later, I receive (and am charged for) another one (though looking back at my banking data, I can't find a charge for the first one). So, now I am completely confused, unsure if I've been charged twice, and have two of these caddies when I really only needed one. This is a lovely-looking piece. It looks great in our shower. There was no damage to the item on arrival. The problems we have with this item are mechanical ones. The shower caddy may fit perfectly in a tub of a different height, but I'm not sure. Our shower caddy had to fit in a tub of about 77 inches tall. They give you 4 or 5 tubes to make the caddy adjustable. When we first put it together, three tubes seemed too loose, but four tubes made the rod too long to fit. With three tubes, the caddy seemed unstable and pulled out easily from the wall when you pulled out on the rod.We went so far as to measure what we thought would be the perfect height to give us the perfect tension to solve the looseness problem. We took one of the extra tubes to Home Depot and they cut it down to the right size. They had to cut the tube with a hacksaw which made the cut end of the tube uneven, but it was the best any of us could do. We then tried to apply the cut tube to the caddy, but it did not help. The shower caddy actually seemed more unstable, probably because of the uneven edge of the added tube.So now we just have three tubes in our shower caddy. As I said above, it pulls out easily if you pull outward on the rod. However, all forces applied parallel to the caddy's rod (i.e. placing/removing shower items from the caddy's shelves) do not dislodge it from it's position. We are comfortable using it as-is. We would be comfortable having guests use it, but we would warn them ahead of time not to pull on the rod. If we ever have children, we will probably come up with a different solution for holding our shower items. I would not feel safe if there were kids using the shower with that caddy. An assembly warning: be careful with the rod once you get the spring inside. Hold the tube with the spring VERY firmly. There were several instances where the spring popped out suddenly (and scared us half to death). Assembling this was a two-person job for us.We've only had it for a couple of weeks, but we haven't noticed any problems with the finish. We did place the caddy at the back of the tub where it won't get as wet, but we mostly placed it there because of other shower logistics and not as much because we were worried about rust.My bathroom stays humid and damp. I had a previous shower caddy completely rust over in a month or so and it only lasted about a year before that one started to lose structural integrity.I purchased this caddy and followed the tips to use some clear-coat rust proof spray. My spray was a quick job and not perfect, but it was relatively thorough. I've made it 6+ months with only minor rust showing through in a few spots. The rust is mostly limited to the baskets where the smaller gauge wire is joined to the frame. These spots would be harder to coat with the rust proof spray, so they likely had a thinner coat applied. The rust is surface rust and is only in a few patches that are maybe the size of a quarter. There are no large flakes or pieces coming off. At this rate, the rust does not look like it will be a serious problem for quite some time.Otherwise, the caddy is great. Installation was easy and it is very sturdy. The baskets are large and hold more than enough for me. I do not think the hook is very useful, but it is not a bother to me and may be more practical for others. Well made and overall a good purchase.I do strongly recommend a coat or two of rust proof spray, especially if you have a humid bathroom. Be sure to give it some extra focus on the baskets and the welded joints.I ordered silver and received black but tried to make it work because when I checked back the silver was sold out. You can place the different shelves where ever works for you but the only problem is the top shelf can't be too high otherwise when you screw it on to make it stay in place, it will prevent tension rod from going in and out and it needs to have that "tension" in order to make it stay up. It will just get stuck. I learned this the hard way. Also the screws suck and got stripped pretty easily from be having to adjust the shelves due to allowing the tension rod to work properly. One shelf doesn't even have a screw, I just used a thick layer of double sided tape around the rod so it prevents it from sliding down. All this work and when I finally got it up, it wouldn't stay in place. Just the littlest knock to it would send it crashing down so I ended up supergluing the top part to the ceiling in the corner there. I guess I'll worry about that when I move out cause I'm over it. All this work for a $90 item seems like a waste. Walmart has similar ones that I bet work better for half the price I was just too lazy to return this big thing so I tried to make it work. I do like the different shelves. Lots of room to store my bluetooth speaker in the shower, along with hair products, body soap, loofa hangers, and razers. It's held up with my modifications well. But I still wouldn't recommend you spend so much money on it if you've got to do so much stuff to make it workLooks very nice! Sturdy and good quality. Came with instructions to assemble it and you can also see a video of it online if you are more visual. Took me a little time to put it together as I’m not too handy :D but it’s relatively easy. Just hope it’s stays where I put it and never falls. So helpful to keep shampoos and so many other things tidy and not messy around your tub. Happy with my purchase! Would definitely recommend it.I sent 2 of these back with scratches and chips from the factory. The finish is cheap. It looks nice but not well made.GoodProducto muy útil, se ajusta bien con su barra telescópica y no es muy aparatoso. Perfecto para tener ordenada la ducha.
